Doing the interview thing for the watchnight service, one question that was asked is how has 2006 been for you and i want to take some time here and recall the events of 2006.
In no particular order, 2006 has been a really good year for me. Probably the best thing i can think of about this year is the time we get to come together and pray in INTI College. I think it was valentine who came up with the idea and then it just went off from there, we had sister Sisi from Australia come and speak into our lives but beyond that the spiritual exercise of praying each week has really helped me.
Another significant thing i really appreciate God for this year is the opportunity to really give my life to God and shake off the doubts that used to be there. Academically too this year has been a year of restoration, my grades went up again this year and despite the disappointments, God gave me double for my trouble.
I also want to thank God for the opportunity to serve in the various events, Nights of fire, PS conference and recently in Bethany with the computers and stuff. Even this blog is my attempt to connect with people and i just want to say here and now that the main reason beyond glorifying God with my life in words is to relate with you all just to connect. Its going to go beyond that to physical person to person interaction. I just feel God telling me over and over these few days that i need to work on my interpersonal relationships, i just feel that 2007 is going to be a people year. Its such a great thing for someone like me. I dont want to say i'm shy but i feel i lack certain social skills and God wants to change things.
This year marked a few milestones in my life, i was able to reach out to my father abit, 2yrs in my relationship, you know i think back and i see the exceeding, goodness of God. Even the opportunity he gave me to check off my wishlist.
There is so much more i'll like to share here so i'll do it in another post

ps conf was arrrrh
PS conference was awesome, i'm glad i went. Alot of truth was spoken and mindsets have been changed in Jesus name. I now realise that there are lot of things we have been saved from but it seems like nothing is happening and those same things creep up again and freak us out its like i thought this thing is done and gone but you know, we have to, i have to accept our salvation and deliverance and just move in it. If God says i'm healed then its done, i now have to start seeing myself as healed, even though there's still pain . Its just like peter walking on water, the storm is always there but Jesus is bigger than the storm, the moment we stop looking unto Jesus we sink and thats what happened to me.
I must confess i didnt have the right attitude all through the conference, at some point i just let the situations around overwhelm the presence of God and the truth God has spoken. I am a child of God, the son of God the King, which makes me a prince right, so how come i act like a mere servant? Servant to circumstances? They're always there but my victory lies in Jesus, just looking unto him and accepting his sacrifice.
Another thing that really struck me was the mindset of a person not willing to accept the blessings of God, it like a habit, i dont mind giving, i enjoy it but its hard for me to receive especially when i'm in need, i prefer to just work my way out. And it doesnt matter what it is, money, love, kindness, generousity, anything. A sower has to receive at some point right?
Finally just a wrap up here, there were alot of things spoken and i'm just touching on a few. I was really amazed at the size of the hall we used to the conf. The turn out was very good everybody involved had their hands full and when it seemed like the hall was so full, they moved the walls behind to the back. That really spoke to me. Its like God, when you think you're getting to know more and more about him, when it seems like your day is already good enough, when you feel like the stuff you prayed for has already been answered, He just grins and opens the back wall to reveal even more, God is awesome.

food fellowship
Seems like i'm talking about food more and more these days. Well yesterday after we finished our prayer meeting we were just talking and i jokingly invited stan to dinner at my house, i thought he would say nvm or something but he took me at my word and we before i knew whats happening we were going to my house.
On the way i recvd a message from caleb and needed to use lanre's phone to call him, ran out of credit. So a short stop over at lanre's house and i thought, why dont we cook at mike's house? I have the eggs, lanre's going to make fry the egg with all the nice nice things and i'll make oat and we'll just eat it with bread.
Again its not a starbucks meal but it works. It nice to see everyone doing something just helping out and we had a good time just munching away at our custom-made food.

firsts
A lot of firsts are going on in my life at the moment. Last friday was the first time i ever went to a gym, philip has been pushing me to do more sports, i play scrabble! i said but he meant outdoor sports and i know fully well what he was talking about.
Its not like i dont like sports, its just that i prefer watching professionals play on tv. I'm not good at any of the sports but the way i see it, its just to have fun. Obviously some people take things too far and get too serious as if its a life or death thing, thats where i back off. But it was fun, my whole body was sore a few days after that but its all good.
I even played volleyball, which is hugely fun. Its all down to teamwork and well since i'm new to the game, i'm not so familiar with the rules and roles we lost the game last friday. Again fun is the operative {key} word here.
Today i cooked for myself. Man i didnt know how pleasant the process of preparing food can be. Let me explain what i cooked so you can laugh. I cooked oat, fried eggs and ate it with bread from my favorite cake house, mita. It was lovely, i enjoyed eating all that food and cleaning up afterwards.
There's something about my life thats changing, i find that i worry too much these days and at the same time i'm trying out things i was either scared to do or plain lazy or uninterested in before. Its kind of adventurous. And as you can see from the times i make these posts, i've not been sleeping as early as i should.
All is not well back home, my father was in the hospital for some days, my sister is sick also, having breathing problems, my brother is getting angry for no reason and when i ask he says i dont want to talk about it. Is that adolescence kicking in or should i worry? My mom is over working herself as usual again. Sometimes i just wish i can be there to help out and support them but i cant, the best i can do is pray for them. I miss my home sigh.
Will be taking IELTS this saturday, I've been going through some sample questions and they are not hard at the same time they are not so easy so i guess i'll be studying for that all this week.
Just one last thing before i go. I was asked to help out with the lcd and stuff which means i'll be there on saturdays during practice and one thing i observed and it just blessed me is to see the work behind the service, how the practice sessions go on and changes are made and the final "settings", if you will are agreed on and done. And then the people come in and the music flows and lives are touched, some on their knees, some crying some just praying, God here i am, I am yours, others just enjoying the time of worship. Its really incredible, it really blessed my heart to see that. God bless you :)

God in the little things
I just want to praise God what what just happened to me. As i came back home, i checked my pocket and my keys were not there. So i was like oh man! What am i going to do? I must have locked it in the room.
Luckily my housemate was at home, i could hear him snoring, so i called him up and he opened the door and went back to sleep. In my mind i was thinking of alternatives because i knew there was no way to get into the room. I was just distressed and panicky, all kinds of thoughts went through my mind i even thought of walking through the door, need to have faith la right? Well yeah but i dont have faith enough to believe i can walk through wood.
So there i was, a victim of my own carelessness. In cases like this i would call my landlady and she would come and open the door with her spare key but it so happens that her phone was stolen just a few days ago and she has not replaced it so calling her was hopeless but i tried anyway, didnt work.
I was just pacing about and then i just asked God, what do i do now? And there was silence, no voice in the clouds. So i went downstairs and tried the set of keys i found on her {my landlady's} table but non fit the door, that again was a hopeless attempt but i didnt care. I was desperate to try anything. I even tried it in prince's room to see if it would open, if it did i'll probably sleep there for the night since he's in Nigeria at the moment but nothing.
Haiya, what to do ah? I honestly didnt want sleep over at michael's house because that would mean i would wear the same clothes i wore today to church tomorrow and it would mean defeat and surrender. How can God come through for me if i always take the easy way out? Besides i wont have this testimony to share now. So i went downstairs again and found a set of keys kept in a top secret place i cant tell you about and opened my door.
I tell you i was like God, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. You are indeed a good God. And help me not to take you for granted.
Its amazing to think that God is the God in little things too. God loves OgUcHi

sure ah?
I want to share my life testimony here, i dont think i've shared this before, and i think its necessary that i do. Dont be shocked, everything i say is true, i even have witnesses to some events here.
Are you a christian?
Sure, i've been a christians since i can remember!
There was a time i was not sure i was really a christian, i was not sure whether i belonged to the body of christ or not, i was not sure about anything especially when i hear people's testimonies of how they came to christ and how they will never forget the day, i know alot of people know the day and the events tht surrounded their salvation and i didnt, i was not sure and everytime i would come to God i would ask him, am i yours? How come i dont have the same testimony as these people? How come i dont experience the same thing they do?
I remember giving my life to christ when i was in Nigeria, I just finished my O'Level exams and during the waiting period for results i enrolled in the baptismal class {yes there is such a thing} and one of the requirements was a written testimony of your salvation. This was going to be tricky because i could not recall if i did so i went home and knelt down and prayed the prayer and i really meant it. Before that time in my life, i was involved with alot of bad stuff, stuff that are shameful so much that i came down one day and cried to God and said God, if you do not save me i will destroy myself and a hatred for these things developed in me but God was not the center of my life then.
There is one thing about not being sure, the devil will use that and torment you, you cannot stand firm as paul says in romans 6:10 with the whole armour and battle because you dont know where you stand and you cannot come to God and say ok i'm ready now God, save me. Doesnt work that way.
So i lived my life like that, i enjoyed the things of God, i prayed, well sometimes i tried so hard but its all human effort, it doesnt go far. Its all pretence and hypocrisy.
God knows us and when he does something in our lives he'll do it in a way that you will know its him. I dont usually cry in public, i'm a guy but i remember clearly pastor kenneth preaching at good news, he was talking about the difference between david and solomon. In 1kings 3:3 Solomon loved the Lord just like his father david except, he offered sacrifices at the local alters. And he was challenging the young people there, are there excepts in your life? God is eith God of all or not at all. There was something about that message that hit me, and it came to a point when we all came out to commit our lives to God, well some of us that i was crying, it was strange, i could not control myself it was almost embarrassing but it didnt matter that much, pastor cheli came up and prayed for me and said alot of things have taken over oguchi and i nodded in agreement, that was profound.
Things didnt change much after that, but i was not happy with the way my life was, i just couldnt help myself.
Then one sunday pastor had to go to KL for some reason, i dont remember now and he said mark would preach on sunday when he arrives kuching, and michael was backup in case he didnt come on time but sure enough this indian guy with his sister came into the church with his bagpark.
I never really met him before but some of the guys; michael, chris, and simon must have known him because he noticed he was losing weight. There was something about him, while he was preaching there was an intensity and a sadness at the same time a sharp piercing word from God, un-diluted and just raw without any flowerings or anything like that. He was talking about the churches that are closing in parts of malaysia and the rise in false teachings but for some reason he came and was saying, are you sure, are you sure you belong to God, do you know beyong a doubt that Jesus will not reject you. That was hard, he was basically tearing down all my walls, all my defences, there was no where to run, no excuse made sense anymore, i needed to be sure.
So when he called out for those who want to be saved and be sure, i went up. Its a hard thing to do, i was in the midst of my friends, and brothers and sisters who have always regarded me as a christian and i was coming out to be saved, to be sure. It was hard but its not about them, this is about me and God, i dont care what anyone thinks but i had to know i'm His. I had to clear the doubts and get real, i had to make a stand in public and declare that i am for Jesus.
I was crying up there as i stood beside Yong shen who also came up, I admire him for his courage, he was also crying. At that time i felt shame and i felt vulnerable and i felt that i had let God down all this while, i remember saying God, i'm scared. In the midst of all these i felt his love, that why when anyone asks me, what is God to you, i say he's good. It seems like a simple answer but its an answer i can testify to, it has a deeper meaning in my life.
I dont have to face the tormenting thoughts of my place in God, now i know for sure, and i remember that sunday in october when i gave my life to God for real. I still have my quiet personality but there are things that are deposited in me that were not there before. God is real and God is good. So in closing this rather long post i want to ask you in all humility and gentleness, are you sure you belong to christ?

wishlist
You know God is good? I was just going through some old files and found a list of things i wanted to do and places i wanted to go and things i wanted. It sounds like of selfish when i look back at what i wrote, i mean all those stuff for me and i was tempted to add more :P
I had some of them crossed out because they were not necessary but i was amazed how most of them have already been taken care of, like going to singapore, its so great. Even the mp3 player i won was in the list, i wanted to buy one but now i dont have to. And the best part about the whole thing is that i didnt even pray for these things i just get them.
Its so amazing to have a father that cares about us and knows the needs we have, its like a father who's walking pass his child's room and overhear them pray for something and decides to suprise them and get the exact thing the child was praying for, imagine the joy the child would experience, and even more than that the love for the father that will be reinforced. Its nice to know that he knows our thoughts and desires, and it pleases him to give us things.
He is our Father, but he's also King and Lord of all. I'm glad he's my father.

casino royale

Today, well yesterday we went out to watch casino royale the new james bond movie. I must say its been a while since i went to the cinema, i think the last movie i watched was xmen 3.
Casino Royale was nice, i'm not going to go through the movie so dont spoil it for you. But i will say the first moments of the movie was very active and there was some humour in this one quite unlike most bond movies. They even added gave 007 some affection in this one, and the new guy, david craig or is it daniel craig, he's not bad at all.
Overall i'll rate it 8/10 not bad for a bond movie ;)

my offering
You know there are times we make promises to God concerning commitment to his course and, there are times when the word of God speaks so personally to us that we just cry, and then we make decisions to change and lead better lives?
Pastor would say that genuine love and care can do more to draw people to God than the best sermon, and its true people dont care how much you know unitl they know how much you care. The ministry of a christian, and by ministry i mean the whole serving life of a christian, is one of weakness. Michael said that and its true, if someone slaps you in one cheek turn the other one, if a soldier demands you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles. Give to those who ask and dont turn away from those who want to borrow. {matthew 5}
It seems that we can achieve more with little effort on our part if we just obey the word of God and not try to figure out what it could have meant, if its practical today, and start to doubt and debate. Why am i saying all these things?
I have set out to glorify God with this blog and other blogs that i am involved with, to be honest and to give my life as an offering. Sometimes words like that sound nice but the true meaning can leave us in a state of lack. What is my offering? Its not to complain and criticize, jesus never did that, he was not found arguing instead he just went about doing the will of God.
Long story short, the more you get to know about what it means to follow christ, the more humble you become, i'm not saying i'm humble in anyway, but i strive to be all that jesus is and to give him the highest glory and praise. If this doesnt make sense then dont bother, i'm like that sometimes but God understands, he always does.
Jesus i'm sorry for going my way and drifting from the pattern you have set for me, i acknowledge my wrong and i want to change, help me in my weaknesses and strengthen my strengths that i may be a vessel you can use, its all about you anyway. Let this blog be an offering to you and nothing else.
~shalom~

Long story short, the more you get to know about what it means to follow christ, the more humble you become, i'm not saying i'm humble in anyway, but i strive to be all that jesus is and to give him the highest glory and praise. If this doesnt make sense then dont bother, i'm like that sometimes but God understands, he always does.
Jesus i'm sorry for going my way and drifting from the pattern you have set for me, i acknowledge my wrong and i want to change, help me in my weaknesses and strengthen my strengths that i may be a vessel you can use, its all about you anyway. Let this blog be an offering to you and nothing else.

observations-crowne plaza
This post could have turned out differently if i wasnt in church tonight but i thank God for restaining me and allowing me to see things differently.
Usually on weekends the Inti school bus takes us to town at two hours intervals starting from 1pm. Most of the time i choose to go to sarawak plaza and then to tun jugah and end up in crowne plaza. I want to make the most of the opportunity we have since we dont pay for these weekend trips so i stay busy for two hours so i can join the bus back to school.
I dont know how many people notice but there is a rather large congregation of mostly malay kids in and around crowne plaza on the weekends. I dont go out on weekdays so i only notice them on the weekend when i'm out. They stay at the entrance, some go up to the car park, and sit on the can i call it a ledge? yeah the opening to looks out towards the river, that place. Others just wonder about and i can't help but see the emptiness of these people.
I must say they look frightening, most of them dressed in retro, gothic rock band like people. Its quite i dunno, i guess well it looks good on them, they have this street fashion thing going. Others add weird body piercings to the mix.
I just sit there observing them while waiting for the bus, they just wonder about, smoke, hang out with friends and enjoy so to speak. Some go as far as causing trouble. I saw one in particular, he was like a bully boss, you know the leader of his gang of bullies? He picked up this guy from where he was sitting, by the road, {I think he was beating a bit before he sat down, he had a sad countenance} and put his arms around him, his {bully} homies were behind him, and he led this guy into the building, i have no idea what he wanted to use him for. The other day i saw these group push this guy down, he fell in front of his girlfriend, he was rather young to have a girlfriend i thought but that was no justification for their action and she obviously was helpless she could not do anything but help get him up again.
Now why am i saying this? I remember when i was young and rebelious. I was in the car going to school, my mom was driving and i started to knot my tie because we were getting closer to school. Those days i didnt want to comb my hair so there i was busy with my tie and the driver of the taxi next to our car called out to me, he said o boy you no dey comb your hair? {translation: dont you ever comb your hair} I was like whats your business? Its my hair, of course i never gave those words voice but my mom was laughing by my side, in agreement to what they taxi driver what saying. I really believe its not his business, and it really wasnt.
My point is, people need to stand up and caution these behaviour of these guys, i dont know much about asian culture, but from what i've seen people dont rebuke others openly, things just slide, and there's sense of its not my business, let them do what they want. But then things will get out of hand and that would be sad, to see the main hotspot for tourists turned into a war zone for gangs fighting for supremacy. Thats not the case now but it might soon be reality.
I dont really want to sound like i'm hating people for having a good time with their friends on a weekend, i really like seeing youths being themselves and expressing themselves with respect to fashion and influence. I dont hate the malay people, i have no reason to and even if i did have a reason Jesus does not allow me to hate so thats that. I'm just expressing a discomfort in my heart and a longing for some purpose i see in these young people, even though they look dangerous and all. They have a longing nothing can fill and i see that. I wonder who else can see this too.

stray
I love hymns, they tend to have more deeper meanings than most modern songs and stray is one of them. I first heard this hymn in my secondary school, own principal used to lead it when we had assembly, i didnt really pay too much attention to the words at the time but i was reminded of this hymn a few weeks ago and found the full lyrics for it.
Its a hymn that portrays total surrender to the will of God, i especially like verse 2 and 7.
Its a hymn that portrays total surrender to the will of God, i especially like verse 2 and 7.
Stray
1. My God , my father, while i stray,
Far from my home in life's rough way,
Oh, teach me from my heart to say,
"Thy will be done"
2. Though dark my path and sad my lot,
Let me be still and murmur not,
or breathe the prayer divinely taught,
"Thy will be done"
3. What though in lonely grief I sigh,
For friends beloved, no longer nigh,
Submissive still would I reply,
"Thy will bw done"
4. Though thou hast called me to resign,
What most i prized, it ne'er was mine;
I have but yielded what was Thine,
"Thy will be done"
5. Should grief or sickness waste away,
My life in premature decay,
My father, still will I strive to say,
"Thy will be done"
6. Let but my fainting heart be blest,
With thy sweet spirit for its guest;
My God to thee I leave the rest,
"Thy will be done"
7. Renew my will from day to day,
Blend it with Thine and take away,
All that now makes it hard to say,
"Thy will be done"
8. Then, when on earth I breathe no more,
The prayer, oft mixed with tears before,
I'll sing upon a happier shore,
"Thy will be done"

progress
According to Chambers dictionary online:
The European Enlightenment heritage views progress as the sense that all experience is future-directed with the specific, calculated purpose of improving or bettering the world, society, and the individual.
Isaac Newton in the 1600's came up with the idea of a mechanistic universe which implied that the universe could be understood without recourse to religion or God, even though Newton himself believed that God created the universe and set it in motion. Eventually, this would lead Europeans to attempt to explain other areas of phenomena with the same mechanistic model—economics, politics, ethics. All of these explanations permitted religion and the divine to be removed from the debate and made the world of material and human phenomena rational, predictable, and manipulable.
This idea of progress as a constant improvement with no certain goal in sight, no end and the obvious assumption that God has no influence on its progress, can be seen in many of the things around us today. In technology there is the constant relentless efforts to improve the speed, accuracy of all machines and the imagination of men are being realised in the brightest and starkest ways. Nothing seems to be impossible these days and people think they can go on without God. Its just like the tower of babel, they were so advanced that they had their sites on the heavens and God had to strike them and confuse them so that their progress will be set back substantially.
I dont mean to sound so academic but i thought i would share just a bit of some discoveries i made. I'm looking for a good book on world history if anyone knows where i can get one let me know especially if it has something to do with God's intevention on history.

progress noun 1 movement while travelling in any direction. 2 course • followed the progress of the trial. 3 movement towards a destination, goal or state of completion • make slow progress. 4 advances or development. 5 old use a journey made in state by a sovereign, etc. verb (progresses, progressed, progressing) 1 intrans to move forwards or onwards; to proceed towards a goal. 2 intrans to advance or develop. 3 intrans to improve. 4 to put (something planned) into operation; to expedite. in progress taking place; in the course of being done.Lately i've been reading alot about history, the church and eschatology {study of the end of the world} and interesting things have popped up. I know history is so boring right? Well due to the strong opposition i've been having on my other blog, defending the faith that i profess and the validity of one Almighty God that is different from the other Gods of other religions, i have been forced to do some research and find out for myself as well as give concrete evidence to the relevance of God and indeed the fact that God is not a passive figure in history, in fact he drives it.
ETYMOLOGY: 15c: from Latin progredi, progressus to move forward.

the great wave
I've been coming across alot of attacks on the christian faith lately and i just want to inform you all about what is going on so we are not caught off guard.
Recently i read a news item that many Americans are not certain God exists, you can say why thats not new, but take your time and read it. I blogged about this on my other blog and found out from the comments i got that this survey was infact really true.
Again going through some of my del.icio.us bookmarks i found out about an atheistic movement to remove 'God' from the currency of America. If you've seen the American currency then you will know it says 'in God we trust' at the back, people want to remove that and for some reason its perfectly legal. Well you might say its in America la but i dont think its a coincidence that these things are happening and i'm finding them more and more everywhere i look. There is was wave of opposition on everything that is Godly and America is only the start.
I pray that we would get really serious with God and live out our faith, this is for me too. I am truely troubled in my spirit, strange times are upon us. This is part of what mark was saying when he was here only now am i seeing with my own eyes. Please, lets encourage each other to good works, strange times are coming, its not time to fool around.
I have some sermons on Understanding the spirit of the age by dr ravi zacharias. He's really great and i know Angela has been in one of his lectures she will tell you. There are three parts to the sermon you can get part 1 here, part 2 and part 3. Listen to them, the english might be hard to understand but something will minister to you. Also there is a great site where you can get sermons from people like C.H spurgeon, C.S lewis over at sermonindex.net
The devil knows his time is short, but Jesus said thou art peter and upon this rock i will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

quick update
Well tomorrow is the big day, i'm having my first paper, management. It should be ok by the grace of God and thursday is the final one. I just want to thank God for seeing me through thus far and yeah to praise him.
Now recently i've been thinking about Jabez, i dont know why but why is he so special, its almost like God was partial for one moment, i mean why should his prayers be answered, is it because of his name? I know there are some books out that try to explain why but i want to find the reason for myself.
Sorry, i used the old king james because i prefer the way the words are put here.
From this passage, Jabez was already more honorable than his brothers yet something gave him the need to ask God to bless him indeed. Why so greedy ah? I mean i dont get it. I guess i'll be thinking more on this and post my thoughts, in the mean time if you have any insight please share them, i'll love to hear it.

And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because i bore him with sorrow.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested (1 chronicles 4:9-10)

exams exams
Next week: Exams, 31st and 2nd
This week: Study hard, hari raya {oh my}
Temptations. Honestly i'm not studying as hard as i should. Maybe i'm over confident and thats bad.
Well joshua is in kuching, so is li ern while mark, connie and yin fern {please forgive me if its spelt wrong} are leaving this week. Man what a week! God desires for his son to rise up in each one of us and thats something we must desire too, and what ever it takes, we must pay the price for the rewards are so great.
I have learnt, and even though i've heard this before, not to come to God's present with my motives, agenda, but to submit myself to his will and allow him do his work in me. Never to come without an expectation. Of course the presence of God is everywhere which means... Figure it out.
Ok la its almost 9, i need to get some studying done before i fail, hehe.

xie xie
I just want to thank God for my studies, this is turning out to be one of my best semesters especially as its the short semester. I've dreaded the short semester for so long and have blamed it for my less than stellar academic performance but this time its different. God gives me double for my trouble haha.
This week has been awesome, starting sunday. Its been really good for someone like me, i feel like the walls i used to hide behind are just crumbling down and God is just searching for me like adam in the garden of eden, where are you oguchi? You know you cant hide there for long, i love you and i'm still interested in you. You are my son. Its been great, indeed no one can understand the depths of God's love, so dont try. That said he desires that i feel like he feels and see the hurts and needs of the people around me, see through all the walls they hide behind and be a source of healing. Because was all need him, we ALL do.
Mark is in town, and i just bless God for his life, yeah. Its not him but God in him thats doing all the mighty works. If there's one thing i would like to remember for the rest of my life its this; i am loved by God. Perfect love expells all fear.
Jesus i just want to thank you for who you are, and for who i am. I thank you for accepting me and for loving me even though i'm not completely everything you desire of me but i want to live for you, see you glorified through me, help me in all my weaknesses, help me come to you in humility, on your terms. You are my father, but you are also King.

cornerstone
Since the nigerian sunday, i've been bumping more and more into the folks at SIB {hehe i mistakenly typed SIN just now}, yeah, its been positive la, the last time was dinner at dr tnay's house {i hope i got the spelling right}.
Well this time, i was invited by mr michael to their cornerstone fellowship, its kind of geared towards the young adults, their was a need to cater for these people who are too old for the youth fellowship and too young for the men's fellowship so cornerstone was formed. If you ask me its a good idea la. Its good to have a time of fellowship and strengthen one another.
Well the main reason why i went, i guess why mr michael invited me was to watch a missions movie, he guessed i'll be interested, i didnt mind but it didnt play on any of the laptops in the house. The thing with some dvds, thats why i dont buy them. There's no guarranttee they would play and i feel reluctant sending them back. So what did we do instead, well we introduced ourselves, got acquainted and sang some rather old songs, i love old songs :)
Then sarah {the host} got a cd, well actually a vcd called drunk before dawn, its an SIB production and it was rather nice, close to professional imo. It was about the lunbawa {is the right? i'm good with these traditional spellings} people and how missionaries brought christianity to their community, whats more it was a musical.
We couldnt stay long though, and it was late anyway, some of us had to work some more so we left after having some cake and milo along with other snacks { i dont like calling it junk food, i feel like i'm eating well junk}. The nice was nice, no not the milo but the other drink, dunno what it is but it was nice. yeah.
I like the spirit behind the cornerstone fellowship, something i see almost everywhere i go is young people being co-ordinated to be all they can be in christ touching the lives of people within their region of influence. I see young people coming together to pray and seek God's face, coincidence? Never, something is happening, question is, what is my role in it? What is your role? Lets get into God.

redeemer
This song is my current favorite, i can play it over and over and over and over... again.
My Jesus is better
Than anything in this world
He loves me, I love Him
So I give Him everything
He gave His life for me
My Saviour
Is living in me
Redeemer
JESUS He set me free
who0o0a, who0o0a
He's living in my heart
He gave me a brand new start
I asked Him, He came in
And washed away all my sin
He gave His life for me
He died to set me free
If You can use anything
Won't You use me
Take me and break me and
Mould me and make me
You died for me
So I'm living for You
I'm living for You
I'm living for You
There's so much energy in this song, and in some ways its like a prayer; if you can use anything Lord, you can use me.
~shalom~
My Jesus is better
Than anything in this world
He loves me, I love Him
So I give Him everything
He gave His life for me
My Saviour
Is living in me
Redeemer
JESUS He set me free
who0o0a, who0o0a
He's living in my heart
He gave me a brand new start
I asked Him, He came in
And washed away all my sin
He gave His life for me
He died to set me free
If You can use anything
Won't You use me
Take me and break me and
Mould me and make me
You died for me
So I'm living for You
I'm living for You
I'm living for You
There's so much energy in this song, and in some ways its like a prayer; if you can use anything Lord, you can use me.

the vision
I found this on my friend's blog and i was really blessed by it, i believe something big is going to happen soon and we need to prepare for it, God is moving, this is no time to sleep. I say this especially to myself, i've been slacking.
Onward!
THE VISION - by Peter Greig
The vision is Jesus - obsessively, dangerously, undeniably Jesus.
The vision is an army of young people. You see bones? I see an army. And they are FREE from materialism. They laugh at 9-5 little prisons. They could eat caviar on Monday and crust on Tuesday. They wouldn't even notice.
They are mobile like the wind; they belong to the nations.
They need no passport.
People write their addresses in pencil and wonder at their strange existence.
They are free yet they are slaves of the hurting and the dirty and the dying.
What is the Vision?
The vision is holiness that hurts the eyes.
It makes children laugh and adults angry.
It gave up the game of minimum integrity long ago to reach for the stars.
It scorns the good and strains for the best.
It is dangerously pure. Light flickers from every secret motive, every private conversation.
It loves people away from their suicide leaps, their Satan games.
This is an army that will lay its life for the cause. A million times a day its soldiers choose to lose that they might one day win the great "Well Done, faithful sons and daughters." Such heroes are as radical
on Monday mornings as Sunday night.
They don't need frames from names. Instead they grin quietly upwards and hear the crowds chanting again and again, "Come on!"
And the army is disciplined. Young people who beat their bodies into submission.
Every soldier would take a bullet for his comrade at arms.
The tattoo on their back boasts, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain."
Sacrifice fuels the fire of victory in their upward eyes.
Winners. Martyrs.
Who can stop them? Can hormones hold them back? Can failure succeed?
Can fear scare them or death kill them?
And the generation PRAYS like a dying man with groans beyond talking, with warrior cries, sulfurous tears and with great barrow loads of laughter! Whatever it takes, they will give.
Breaking the rules. Shaking the mediocrity from its cozy little hide.
Laying down their rights and their precious little wrings, laughing at labels, fasting essentials.
The advertisers cannot mould them.
Hollywood cannot hold them.
Peer pressure is powerless to shake their resolve at late night parties before the cockerel cries.
They are incredibly cool, dangerously attractive inside.
On the outside? They hardly care.
They wear clothes like a costume to communicate and celebrate but never to hide.
Would they surrender their image or popularity?
They would lay down their very lives - swap seats with the man on death row - guilty as hell.
An electric chair for a throne.
With blood and sweat and many tears, with sleepless nights and fruitless days, They pray as if it all depends on God and live as if it all depends on them.
Their DNA chooses Jesus.
He breathes out, they breathe in.
Their subconscious sings.
They've had a blood transfusion with Jesus.
Their words make demons scream in shopping centers. Don't you hear them coming? Herald the weirdos! Summon the losers and the freaks. Here comes the frightened and forgotten with the fire in their eyes.
They walk tall and trees applaud, skyscrapers bow, mountains are dwarfed by these children of another dimension.
Their prayers summon the hounds of heaven and invoke the ancient dream of Eden. And this vision will be. It will come to pass; it will come easily; it will come soon. How do I know? Because this is the longing of creation itself, the groaning of the Spirit, the very dream of God.
My tomorrow is his today. My distant hope is his 3D. And my feeble whispered, faithless prayer invokes a thunderous, resounding, bone-shaking "Amen!" from countless angels, from heroes of the faith, from Christ himself. And he is the original dreamer, the ultimate winner. Guaranteed.

merdeka Nigeria
God is good yeah? I would like to share about what He did for me. Thursday i found out i cannot find my calculator, looked everywhere but no, then i thought maybe i didnt bring it to school, got home and its not there also. Wah, tension, i didnt want to buy a new one, i dont like to think i'm careless, so i was sad going to school the next day. But i prayed and said God i cant lose my calculator, i need it, its special, it even has solar panels. I was really sad la. So i got to school and told all my friends to keep a clean eye out in case they come across it, maybe someone took it and i was not careless after all. I guess within me i believed strongly i would find it.
Got to the library, went downstairs talked to my friend for a while {small talk} and told him also about my missing calculator only to turn around to find the uncle behind me calling my attention, he reach into his table and handed me my calculator, i was like wow, thank you so much. I knew it was mine because i used correction fluid on it, and painted it pink at the back with my highlighter :p
I know it sounds a bit childish but for me its answered prayers, meets when i pray He listens and answers, means He is still there. Nice to experience that.
1st October 1960, Nigeria gained her independence from the British. 1st october 2006 SIB kuching invited the Nigerians to their church to share their culture and faith so in true Nigerian hospitality we stormed the church and gave our best to God, it was really nice to see all the work and effort pay off. It was really a Nigerian sunday and i didnt miss home for a while.
Called my mum and she said there was nothing special happening back home, just alot of prayers for the nation. There was a tragic incident where alot of top military officials died in a plane crash while en route to a meeting. So there's a heavy spirit in the nation.
After the service at SIB we took lots of photos together, and went to bethany. Worship was great as usual. Bethany is special. Pastor shared from Acts 9 {saul's conversion}. I need to look closely at it again, somethings were new this time. After church we went for a mega lunch, hmm yummy red pork :) It was really nice.

wednesday meeting
So its no secret that on wednesdays we meet in inti college for a short time of prayer and worship, well this wednesday was special, not only did we get a record number of people to turn up, mrs Agnes invited sisilia {yeah thats the spelling} who is originally from fiji but lives in the outback to the meeting.
Now i've heard such wonderful things about what God is doing through her, her prophetic ministry and how precise the words that comes out of her mouth actually is. She is someone who is devoted totally to God, and relies on the holy spirit for her daily living, i see alot of patience in her and the power she has now is as a result of denying the flesh and its desires and seeking God with all her heart, paying the price in the process, one that took about 12years.
She shared about her life, how she came to the Lord Jesus and how her family background hindered the work of God in her life, he grand father worshiped the devil so that curse was on her family and it was not until the end of her seeking God through fasting and prayer for 12 that she was shown the source of all the troubles in her life and was able to deal with it.
After her sharing she picked people out and prayed for them, i dont think it was in any random order i think the Holy Spirit guided her in her choices. She called me out after praying for valentine and a few others and said alot of things about my life like she had known me and had known my thoughts and desires, dreams and stuff, i was like the women at the well in john 4 {come see this man who has told me everything i've ever done}. She spoke some prophetic words into my life one of which is the salvation of my father is october. I believe it strongly, it time for something to happen in my family, i've been praying for him for a while until i got tired after it seemed nothing was happening, and my mum would always complain 'he's getting worse'. Of course i would assure her not to give up, God is good and everything he does he does for a purpose, he does not say something and change his mind, no thats man.
She spoke alot of what will happen in the future, even things i've asked God for and it seemed he forgot or i stopped asking after a while all come up again, its amazing how precise she spoke. It was powerful.
One theme that ran through everything she said was these things are not for you, they are given to you to help others. She said they can only come to pass when we draw closer to God and press in to his presence in worship, prayer and fasting; something i need to practice more on.
It was so great to see even people who we would consider, determined sinners come and humble themselves to be prayed for, i was so blessed by their presence, and someone gave his life back to christ that evening. The service prolonged up until 2am and i really saw that pst sisilia was tired yet she pressed on, she spent time talking to everyone, giving them her best, and just allowing God's strenght to be made manifest in her weakness. I really admire that.
God is good. One profound thing she said is that God is in a hurry to do his work, so if you're willing and prepared he will use you, and times of extraordinary signs and wonders are ahead. The manifestation of the power of God will be great in the years to come and people will think its from the devil but its not. And we need now more than ever the gift of discerning the spirits. So ask God for that.
Truelly a life changing experience.

Give thanks?
I feel i should share this so things are sort of balanced, i dont want to give the impression that my life is all nice and rosy and i dont go through stuff. It quite personal and painful for me which explains my initial reluctance but i'll just share any way.
Last semester was one of the best i've had in a while, i felt most of the distractions and lack of focus was going away. I had 4 subjects and all were quite challenging, some more than the others. And i especially liked the management probably because a lady took it {she's good looking by the way, hehe} no seiously i just enjoyed the subject and it was more like learning how organisations work and why they make the decisions they make and why there are mergers and acquisitions and the rationale behind them and the general attitude of an employee in an organisation.
My interest in the subject reflected in my result, i was not the first in the class but i scored high in my assignments, tests and group work {collectively called coursework}. So i was pumped. Eagerly waiting for the exam day so i can get my A for sure. And very nicely it was on a friday, the last paper for the semester, and two days after the previous one so i had enough time to prepare and stuff.
On the day i got to school quite late, about 9 something, went straight to the library and went through some areas i felt would come out, trying to recall the parts i've already covered and then by 11 i get a call from my friend asking why i didnt come for the exam. Now this guy is a joker and i was like nice try, honestly i thought this was one of his pranks, but he was sounded serious. Joking or not i needed to be sure. I came out and there they were, all my classmates outside then i knew something terrible had just happened.
I quickly confirmed with them and yes i had missed my eagerly anticipated management exam, my heart just felt like it dropped or something, i felt like i lost something special and dear to me. I was confused for a while and in utter shock, how in the world could i miss my exam?
I obviously knew there was an exam that day but i guess i was too negligent and presumptiously thought it was one of those evening ones, the 4-7 exams like the others i wrote. A lot of thoughts came into my mind; why didnt anyone call me to ask where i was? What would my father say when he sees the result? I obviously could not bring myself to tell him, just can't.
After some moments of thinking i went to my head of programme and explained everything to him and he suggested i meet the head of exams and let him know, which i did and he asked me to write a letter to the board of exams, {i didnt even know there was such a thing like the board of exams until that day} although he assured me i wont be considered with my excuse but if i was sick or something, they could consider me and give me a make-up exam. And for a moment i thought, i could just meet the nurse downstairs and make up a story get my doctors statement and write the exam but its not something i'm good at, besides i've learnt over the years to face my problems head on.
Few days later i went back to the head of exams and he told me i would have to take the subject again, the board denied my appeal. I felt angry, disappointed, worthless, lost my dignity, shame. I would have to take management again. I was angry because my head of programme was powerless to help me in my time of need, he didnt even make any effort, i thought that was really weird, i mean why is he head when he can't do anything? I felt disappointed because i wrote the truth in that letter and the truth did not set me free in this case. I felt worthless because eventually my father would get the result and see an F there and i'll have to explain to him, he already thinks little of me, we dont get along well. I lost my dignity because i would be repeating a class i'm good in. It was a low point in my life, and made the holidays that followed less pleasant.
It easy to get depressed and angry and say God why did this happen? And sink in it, but i believe all things work together for good to them who love God and are called according to his purpose. I believe this will turn out for good and i'll look back at this time in my life not with regret but with gratitude to God. I believe my life is ordered right from the first time i saw light to the last time i'll see it. And He that keeps me does not sleep or slumber, and he loves me no matter what.
I hope this encourages someone, someday. Few are the days of man and its filled with problems, but the just shall live by faith. And they that put their trust in God shall not be put to shame. i believe in Jesus.

back to school
Going back to school, starting the short semester {about 5weeks or so} not willing to give up my holiday but what to do, hehe.
Part of me is glad that school's starting, back to homeworks and assignments and stress. I know its going to be intense but somehow i'm happy because of the subjects i'll be taking, and the teachers that take the subjects, this is my opportunity to get good grades before 2006 is over. Its not over yet, and yeah.
Good to see everyone well almost everyone come back to help with the nights of fire, nice to see people like andrew and jacky again. Nice to see some of my friends actually turned up for the concert that had over 3000 young people in attendance. Praise God.
The bbq was a time just to socialise and meet new christians, i met jacob, ben, ken, charmain {hope thats correct} and fione, they all go to the same school in 9th mile {i know, so far away} ben and ken went to sib while the rest went to st something catholic church, cant remember the name of the saint in question. Anyhow, it was nice to get them talking, at first it was difficult to get them to talk, the girls we so shy shy like that but as they became familiar with the food, they eventually opened up and shared abit of their life. Its good to be in a position were you are uncomfortable with just to learn to trust God to change the environment. Later after our meal was done, we took a group photo, it was a good night. Praise God :)
Sunday worship was really good, its nice having a full house at bethany and its really good to see su ee lead the worship, i guess God's work must go on, and He's raising him for greater works ahead. His promises makes rich and adds no sorrow.
Today's message on serving really blessed me, i get to see the ways everyone serves, not just in places like worship where everyone can see, and its 'glamourous' if i can say that, but also in things like taking the offering, washing cups, helping others, sharing knowledge and talents, encouraging one another, smsing parts of the bible that blessed you to others, or just smiling, the wonders of a joyful expression. Its good. And it touches my heart to see the great examples that God has laid before us to follow people like rebekah, timothy, abraham, ruth, even mary.
When I measure the extent of my service to God, it doesnt even come close when compared to these heros of the bible, but its not something to be depressed about but rather something to work on because God never condemns, i see him disappointed sometimes when we fall short, and happy when we prevail over difficult times. But his love is ever lasting. He's a good father.
I'm looking forward to what the future has in store for us, it would be really nice to see friends shining for Jesus wherever they are, just hanging on and trusting in him to move in our lives, not letting situations weigh us down but rising above them and moving on with Jesus because that the only meaning in this life we live. When all is said and done, only what is done for christ will stand.

faith
Pastor josh from the states preached on saturday at the ACS, same place nights of fire will be held later this month, and the main theme of his messages both saturday and today was faith, faith in God our father.
I must say it hit hard on me, i used to have so much faith in God while i was still quite young and not in a position where i make decisions on my own but things gradually changed as i left home and am now in a position where i make my own decisions and whatever they are, affect the choices i make and sometimes are influenced by other people for better or worse.
Basically i feel God sent him to kuching to tell me hey, i'm still here, can you trust me like you once did? i've not changed, come on lets work together. Reminds me of Jesus when he had to endure the cross and all the sufferings that came with it just so i can have a better life, just so that i dont have to work as much to be right. Even my earthly father had to work hard from when he was in school and even now he's an adult, he had to plan for me to have the opportunities i'm having now, its something to be grateful for and at the same time, this gratitude comes with responsibility to pass on the heritage of hard work and better life to the others under me. Blessed to be a blessing.
Thank you Jesus for never giving up on me, i know i can be stubborn alot of times and i run my life the way i want, i just want to say thank you for all the opportunities that you allow me to experience not because i deserve it but because you are love, and because you love, you give. Bring me to the point where i can be a blessing to others too not being selfish but caring just like you do.

holiday goals
I'm a very lazy person and the worst thing you can do for someone like me is give me a break, or a holiday. So the first week of my holidays are over with nothing to show for it, the next few weeks wont go the same way, i intend changing some things.
Considering that i dont do alot of reading despite my mom's best efforts; she sends me books. That not withstanding i often buy books myself just to read half way and keep it aside. If decided to read two books before my holidays are over.
The first one i bought myself at salvation; cries of the heart by Dr Ravi Zacharias.
Something i need at this time of my life when everything seems to be going south. The second one is the one my mom sent to me; A compact guide to discovering God's will. Its not pleasant to remember decisions that are made out of ignorance or plain stupidity so this book is great for that.
So thats my holiday plans for now, i'll try to live an ordered life as i go through all the things that come my way and will be updating y'all on what i learn.

holidays
My holidays started right from the last paper i wrote but officially its from monday, so thats like 2 days ago and already i'm so bored. Most of the folks in inti either travelled or just at home, and the best part is that this is just the first week of three.
Just to keep busy i play maplestory and watch movies, i feel like i should be doing more at the same time i have no idea what to do, and the haze, my goodness. The haze is not helping matters, everywhere is so hot and dry, i dont want to complain so i'll leave it at that.
I was thinking of getting a new camera since my former one is now caput {broken}. Thats what i get for giving everyone who asks, and they dont even take good care of it, ok i'm complaining again. Its tricky, i dont want a sony because of the price and the memory stick issue. Memory sticks are expensive, but sony cameras are good. Another option is canon, but my friends are discouraging me so that leaves me with fujifilm. I've not used fuji before so i dont know what to look out for and i'm just too lazy to go out and check them out. Dont like wondering from shop to shop.
Since i moved its been a struggle just getting back to my spiritual form, its really hard with the computer always online and if you know me and internet... I miss those times i used to be on my own just reading my bible and falling asleep. I want it back.
God is good, there is no evil in him, his love is overwhelming and we dont deserve it. But he gives it anyway. Thank God for that. Oh and ah, michael's birthday is on the 29th, dont forget ah.

colored people :-)
Recent events in my life has brought me to question, who are really my friends, and also what kind of friend i am. Its easy to point fingers and say, ...you were not there for me when i needed you, you dont care, i dont know why i'm you friend anyway, how come u didnt call me? You know but lets look inside and convince ourselves that we are better. I had a terrible event happen in my life this friday, it may look like nothing but i know all the implications and i'm not at liberty to share at the moment, some of you know already anyways.
I believe in everything that happens, it happens for a reason, hopefully a good reason so there's no point getting depressed and disappointed and down and low and blue and sad la. There are about a million good things that has happened so let no the itsy bitsy little small tiny things that happen overshadow the good.
I tried to post the pics of the stuff i won from tmnet but blogger is not co-operating so i cant post it here at the moment.
Following after joshua's footsteps, i've tried to record the messages in bethany, and this one is from last saturday. I want to apologise for the low sound quality my mp3 is not really good at recording good quality audio. Hope you get encouraged.

moving on
Just want to update this blog so its not static all the time. Great news, someone from tmnet just called to inform me that i won the xmen contest, i was about 5 favored winners {notice i said favored not lucky} and he just called to confirm my address and hopefully by next week i should be receiving my prize. I was really suprised that i won, i usually dont win anything and i'm not malaysian, most of the competitions are for malaysians only {terms and conditions apply, dont they always} its great though.
By next week we'll be having our exams, its really stressful but it'll be all over soon, and most likely i'll be moving to a new house this week, will be meeting with the land lady today to make the final payments and occupy the room. It would be the first time i'll not be in the same roof as michael, the rooms in their house had all been taken by the time i found out, he offered to share rooms but i didnt accept, my bad.
There are concerns about my moving even though i dont really see a problem with it, i'm not in charge of who can live in the house, and there were already three people there before i even thought of moving so why all the unnecessary worry? If you dont understand what i just said nvm, i did that on purpose, but if you think abit .................ah {liberating right?}

family
I was going to post about some hymns i've been reminded of in recent times but i read something morning and thought it went well with Acts 3 that we're going through at the moment. Well here it is
Dr Paul Brand s medical missionary in india, observed an unusual phenomenon with several of his patients. When they were recovering from surgery in his hospital, some family members would bring hot meals to them. At night a relative would sleep on the floor under the bed of the recovering patient. When patients awoke in pain, their loved ones would gently massage them until they went back to sleep.
At first Dr. Brand thought this was inappropriate and unsanitary. Over time, however, he began to notice that the patients receiving this loving care from family needed less pain medication. They were being soothed by people who loved them. This "family therapy" brought the warmth and care of homes into an unfamiliar place.
We can learn from this example of love and care for our family. Those who belong to christ are part of a spiritual family and need to be aware of the hurts of other members. The apostle paul said, "If one member suffers, all the member suffer with it" {1 corinthians 12:26}. This principle requires that we find practical ways of soothing hurts. Do you know a Christian brother or sister who needs "family therapy" from you?

about tongues
God is good isnt he. Well i got the answer to my earlier post in our wednesday prayer meeting, mrs Agnes confirmed what i believed that indeed it was possible to have more than one tongue, for different occasions as the Holy Spirit gives wisdom. Not only that but i came realise that tongues is a language, just like english is a language.
We start up with simple words an d sounds and as we grow, we get to know more and more words and then how to put those words into sentences, sentences for paragraphs, you get what i mean? Its like that. Well its something to look forward to and develop. The times of living in the bliss of ignorance is over, we need to take up our positions in the body and move forward.
Its amazing the things you learn just by listening. If you know me you know i dont talk much, the good thing about that is that it gives me an opportunity to listen. The other day i was just listening to some guys talk about their struggles and one said, struggles, hard times are there to propel us forward, its something to face not a run away from, even though you dont win you get necessary skills and experience to help you the next time you face a tough situation.
Its like games, you know; i've been playing alot of maple story lately and its been a good experience for me atleast, i get to learn alot just setting the stats, and knowing which to increase and at what time. There are lots of monsters of different strength so as a beginner you need to start with the snails and stuff until you are strong enough to deal with the big guys. Its like that for us too, we need to learn basics first then when we're through we can have the necessary skill points and experience to guide others. Blessed to be a blessing. :-)
