My curiousity machine is working overtime. Well i'm curious to know why people blog? Why do you have a blog?
I've been blogging since 2004. I used blogger before and went to other platforms now i'm back to blogger. My earlier blogs were outlets of frustration and misguided emotions but things have changed and now i'm on a different path in life.
I know some people will read this so if you dont mind sharing with me why you blog i'll really appreciate it. I'll let you know my reason afterwards.

hallelujah
The only word that is the same in all languages is hallelujah. Sure some people spell it differently but it sounds and means the same thing where ever you go.
One day every tongue and every nation will praise Jesus, its going to be wonderful

the u factor
We all know that mourning may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning. And one song says morning is not something that has an am next to it, morning is when you WAKE UP! ...joy is here wake up!
But i just noticed that the difference between mourning and morning is u. We decide whether to be renewed by the transforming of our minds, whether to live by faith and not by sight. Whether to get offended by what someone said even though it hurts or to forgive and move on. There are a thousand and one things that could go wrong on our days but most times there's at least one thing to be thankful for, like a new episode of heroes :D

the posture of the mind
This is an important message from Dr. Ravi Zacharias. It was shared on a graduation ceremony, it is very very nice especially for students.

nO mOre jAva
There's a reason why the title is a little funny, such is the java naming convention. Well i thank God for seeing me through this one. I've enjoyed all the programming languages i've learned so far but this is by far the most tedious.
I was so scared going into the exam hall, the very, very cold exam hall, even the invigilators were shivering. Anyway i was scared until i saw the questions and they were trivial. I was so shocked, i mean they would give us stuff like that even for tutorials. {beans, hehe}.
For some reason this year is easy, compared to the previous years. I'm just glad i can strike that one off with a grin. Now i'm hoping tomorrow will be as easy.
I just found this song while going through some blogs and i liked it.

demands on our lives
I needed to make alot of calls yesterday and didnt have enough credit on my digi to make them and my battery was running low so i switched to my celcom line. Fortunately i have a relaod card i've not used lying in my wallet so i stayed with the line for the later parts of saturday and sunday until about 10pm, only to check back and meet a bombardment of messages.
Most of them from people who want something, lab exercises, information and so on, and i literally live my life like this, ever since i can remember i've been on call for anyone and everyone. Its not that i can't say no, i enjoy being a help but it can be very tiring at the end of the day. But the incredible thing is that God gives us strength to do his will. And thats the joy in all these things, its not about being popular or anything, just the sheer priviledge of serving is something to be cherished and be thankful for.
So i guess this is another thank You to God for putting me in a place of service where i can get worn out yet being refilled and refreshed in the process.

exams and families
Its been a really busy week for me, most of my time was spent indoors in the quietness and coldness of the state library and the library in Inti college trying to cover as much as i can before my finals on thursday and friday. With all this stress i dont know if there would be a visit to pizza hut after all is said and done. ;)
Today's session on families made me reflect a bit about my own. I remember the time when i would wake up, get two cars out of the garage, wash them, check the oil and water on them before getting ready to go to school. Times when i would get all covered with grease and diesel and black smoke trying to start up the generator so we can atleast watch some tv before we sleep. Times when i grumbled after it seemed that out of 5 children in the family i was the only asked to do chores even those that are clearly for girls, imagine having to wash your mom's clothes and iron them.
I remember times when i couldnt take it anymore and there was nothing i could do because i was in a culture that does not allow open dialogue between hurting children and their parents. I once taught of running away from home but after going through the whole thing in my head, it wasnt the wisest decision to make. I remember the time when i taught i was adopted and even before blogs i had a way of expressing myself in words on paper, words that i kept hidden away until my mom found them and i had to explain myself. Those were humbling times.
Now as i look back at it, i can see God's hands in it. I must confess i was very stubborn, it doesnt show very much now but i needed to be humbled and to learn submission and my family was the perfect training ground. Through all the pains and trials and humiliations i can say i'm stronger for it and i thank God now for everything. Even though things are not dreamy, and my family is not the best in the world {who's is?} i still thank God for them and for every moment that i was punished to forced to work, for every time my mom would make me go to the salon with her, for the time when i crashed the car and didnt have to pay for it, for home made meals and extra servings, for the chickens that layed eggs and the goats that ate our flowers until they became the meal. For everything, we really dont know what we have until its no more there.
While we were discussing about this, there was an agreement that things could be better and so for me as a future parent, what kind of parent do i want to be? Would i want to be like mine or is there another way to bring up children? I believe God gives us every resource we need for any situation we will face and being a parent is a scary thing, so much that i dont know if i would do better but i believe, there must be a difference between people who belong to Christ and those who do not.

Father, thank You for my family, thank you for making me a member of that family, i pray even as i grow up to be a parent one day that you will guide me in your ways so i wont make the same mistakes they did and i ask and i receive your strength to be a good child to my parents, to honor them in any way i can, because it pleases you. Thank you father, thank you.

love and chastisement
I'm in an uncomfortable sitaution where i have to correct someone. Its really hard for me especially because i've not done this before. Usually i just overlook but this time i just cant. I dont have peace so i've got to do it and quick but i dont want to be misunderstood and i dont want to cause resentment.
In Hebrews 12: 6, one of my favorite verses:

In Hebrews 12: 6, one of my favorite verses:
I need my peace back, i'm not in any kind of torment because of this but i know something is not right and i dont want to be hasty. So any advice? Besides praying and seeking God about it, i've been doing that. :)
For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.

Count your blessings
The past few weeks have been quite stressful for me. We had to meet several deadlines for the finl year project. Reports were submitted, presentations were made and re-made, the actual circuit had to be fully functional accepted as satisfactory by the various supervisors and on top of all that were the demands of other subjects we're taking so you can imagine how busy i was. I'm not going to narrate everything but i just want to concentrate on the challenges i had while doing this project.
How can you explain to people that a simple device made up of capacitors and resistors and other unfamiliar components can actually make them sleep? That was my task. I had problems getting the main component for the circuit which is an inductor that was not commercially available and the materials to make one not easy to come by, so for my first and second oral presentations i didnt have this main component. Only after asking some questions on yahoo answers did i discover that the wire can used to make the inductor is the same one used in transformers and fortunately i had an old broken down hair clipper in the house with a transformer so problem number 1 is solved.
Next came the connecting of the circuit which is actually the easiest part in the whole process. I had it working after several tries and finally showed the output to my supervisor who gave me the go ahead to build it on the Printed Circuit Board. I successfully connected everything after short-circuiting my first board. Usually we dont use the PCB in the lab so i was unaware of the current direction in the borad but on the second try it got it working and showed that to my Supervisor who was ok with it.
Now it looked ugly as it was so i got a casing for it and in the process of preparing the circuit for its new shell i broke something, the circuit wont work anymore. This is where the main problem started.
One day before we need to present my circuit stopped working, i felt like something out of the ordinary was happening. Initially i thought i must have blown one of the ICs so i got another one a few hrs before we were to present, changed the ICs and nothing. From this point on, i unleashed the power of tongues and started confessing the promises of God and exercised the highest faith i could come up with, i was very optimistic it would work but i had fear i would fail this course.
30 minutes before we go live, my circuit is still not working so i called sam to take a look at it for me and see if i made any errors but there was nothing wrong. All the connections are grounded but power is not flowing to all parts of the circuit. He kept checking and checking until somehow a solution came up and could finally go to the hall and present, 15 minutes late.
It was the most terrifying moment of my life. I couldnt imagine having to do all this again, what would i tell my father?
But i learnt a few things from this experience. We are more than conquerors in Christ! The sermons and tapes i've been listening are all saying the same thing; the kingdom of God is here among you, you possess the kingdom, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
I learnt to stand firm and confess the victory i already have in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. To press on until something happens, not to give up and fight another day but to take what is already mine. The bible says we are blessed with all spiritual gifts in heavenly places and the keys to the kingdom has been given to us.
So sometimes when it seems like the righteous are not progressing and the unrighteous are advancing, it could be that the people who have the victory dont even know what they have, so it was very encouraging to be able to go through that and come out victorious.
Sure enough we went for pizza later that evening just to celebrate new found freedom from the stress of project and i just want to thank God for sending his son to die so that we can have victory. Its true, we'll never know how much it cost to see him on that cross.
