who am i?

Blogs are great, its place where you have freedom of expression, anything and everything is at your discretion but that freedom can be abused and well we get out of line sometimes. Its nice what shellyn said and its true, it should be real. So i've decided to make a few changes, wont say what they are but i hope you notice as time goes on.

In the last post i shared that i was reading a book and who we are in Christ is at the core of the book, here are a few things;

I am the salt of the earth (matt 5:13)
I am the light of the world (matt 5:14)
I am a child of God (John 1:12)
I am part of the true vine, a channel of Christ's life (John 15:1,5)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit (John 15:16)
I am a slave of righteousness (Rom 6:18)
I am enslaved to God (Rom 6:22)
I am a son of God; God is spiritually my father (Rom 8:14, 15; Gal 3:26,4:6)
I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing His inheritance with Him (Rom 8:17)
I am a temple - a dwelling place - of God. His spirit and His life dwell in me (1 cor 3:16; 6:19)
I am united to the Lord and am one spirit with Him (1 cor 6:17)
I am a member of Christ's Body (1 cor 12:27; Eph 5:30)
I am a new creation (2 cor 5:17)
I am reconciled to God and am a minister of reconciliation (2 cor 5:18,19)
I am a son of God and one in Christ (Gal 3:26,28)
I am an heir of God since I am a son of God (Gal 4:6,7)
I am a saint (1 cor 1:2; Eph 1:1; Phil 1:1; Col 1:2)
I am God's workmanship - His handiwork - born anew in Christ to do His work (Eph 2:10)
I am a fellow citizen with the rest of God's family (Eph 2:19)
I am a prisoner of Christ (Eph 3:1; 4:1)
I am a righteous and holy (Eph 4:24)
I am a citizen of heaven, seated in heaven right now (Eph 2:6; Phil 3:20)
I am hidden with Christ in God (Col 3:3)
I am an expression of the life of Christ because He is my life (Col 3:4)
I am chosen of God, holy and dearly loved (Col 3:12; 1 Thess 1:4)
I am a son of light and not of darkness (1 Thess 5:5)
I am a holy partaker of a heavenly calling (Heb 3:1)
I am a partaker of a heavenly calling (Heb 3:14)
I am one of God's living stones, being built up in Christ as a spiritual house (1 pet 2:5)
I am a member of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession (1 pet 2:9,10)
I am an alien and stranger to this world in which I temporarily live (1 pet 2:11)
I am an enemy of the devil (1 pet 5:8)
I am a child of God, and the evil one - the devil - cannot touch me (1 John 5:18)
I am not the great "I am" (Exo 3:14; John 8:24, 28,58), but by the grace of God, I am what I am (1 cor 15:10)

See yourself as God sees you. Its liberating :)

backslidden

I came across this post and it really put things back into perspective for me. I'll just quote a few of the things that was said.

If you are not in daily prayer; if you are not regularly fasting; if you are not actively and practically seeking to know God - then I imagine that you are backslidden. Backslidden from your invitation of intimacy, nobility and power.
I'm reading a book and something the author said caught my attention, he said "...next to the Holy Spirit, the greatest power you possess is the power to choose. You can choose to read your bible daily, or not you can choose to pray or not to pray..." Here's some more

There are 100 other things I would rather do than pray, fast and read the Bible. But I have committed to do them. I force myself into these disciplines when I don’t want to because I know, that through them I will find encounter. I am working out my salvation in partnership with the Holy Spirit.

The lifestyle practices of prayer, managing my time and money, making a covenant with my eyes and bridling my tongue do not earn me the anointing. Rather, they are preparing me for when the anointing comes. So when God wants to meet me in a new way, I am where He wants me and I don’t miss the move of God in this generation.

Its easy to get caught up in alot of activities but what really matters, and this is especially for me is how well I know Jesus and what i'm doing with the talents, gifts and time that i have.

Of course God NEVER condemns, but its good to be reminded from time to time that we are here on assignment, there's more to this life than just living.

spiderman 3

Finally i get to watch the movie and see what the fuss was about. I read a review this afternoon that didnt give the movie alot of props and i think whoever wrote that review is just sad and needs a life.

So even though we had to settle for the third row, far side seat {my neck still hurts} we got through the ads for transformers and next, two potentially great movies although i think next is find of a mix between minority report and deja vu with a nicolas cage persona and of course the cute little yellow duckies that made two new friends, and reminds you you made the right choice for choosing digi and who can forget old man colonel; finger lickin good he says, the world of advertising.

Ok now to the movie, so peter starts of walking on cloud 9, everybody loves me he says and right he was, everything was going well for him, mj had this job that reminded me of the times i used to watch tnt classic movies, the symphony :sigh: all the memories. Everything was perfect although i must say her voice wasnt that good. But soon the action commenced, harry was still mad about his dad, "...avenge me!" and took it out on poor unsuspecting peter, the aero display what impressive but anger makes you stupid and harry had a hard fall that landed him in the hospital with temporary amnesia {how convinient}, since he couldnt remember, peter took advantage of it and got his old buddy back but bad habits die hard.

I always try not to give too much away so in summary, harry died for his friend and sand man is really cool. Oh and i like the way they stuck with the cartoon series in getting rid of the black suit, i thought that was nice. I like the black suit though, looks nice :D

And the ending was just so touching, i almost cried, reconciliation. I think God is trying to tell me something about reconciliation, maybe i need to be more attentive.

Overall i'll give it a 4/5, nothing's perfect in this world :P

super free, bored... oh and ah bored!

On monday Inti opens its doors for a brand new semester. Lines will form around the payment counter and students will complain about the amount of money they're paying to Mr William Tan. Introductions will be made, lectures will resume and one cycle of education will continue but not for me, I'll be home. Not because i'm tired of school and want nothing of it, but because i'm done with school at least for now and my holiday will truely start.

Given that i would be out of any compulsory educational engagement for quite some time, i'm starting to feel bored and lazy and every other feeling you feel when you're on holidays. Its been unofficially two weeks and i have till september before University intakes open and the journey continues.

I need to engage myself in some meaningful activity or like my mom used to say, i'll forget how to spell my own name. Any ideas? I'm open to ideas.

On the other hand, i now have time to do alot of things i wanted to do like playing around with the way this blog looks and trying out a few software i wanted to.

In other unrelated news, whats the deal with spiderman 3. I heard its very difficult to get tickets with people booking days in advance. Do we need more cinemas?

why i blog

Its been nice hearing reading your reasons for blogging and just as i promised here's mine. I'm not good with physical one on one communication, so this is like my outlet, my expression and it means alot that i do this right this time.

I've been through the phase of seeking comments and just like the days of email when you feel bad when no one emails, i used to feel bad when there was no comments but you know its not about the comments anymore.

There's more satisfaction in just sitting here, with the fan blowing on one side and the bright flourescent light illuminating my room and typing my thoughts down. I'm more satisfied knowing that my life is not wasted on regrets on things i didnt do or didnt say, i guess i blog because i need to connect, somehow. :)

Its nice to see that more and more people are blogging now, i remember the time when people asked me, why anyone would want to expose their lives for the world to read yet we all have needs now dont we?
