You when when you want something someone else has and you wish you had it and the more you think about it the more it seems like everything you want to do is get it and give in? I've been feeling that a lot lately.
First was when i went to my friend's house and saw his widescreen display. Instant jealously, i tried to control myself knowing who he was, if i freaked out he wouldn't like it.
Secondly, seems like everyone i know has or is getting a dslr and i wan, i so so want but cannot. The thing with dslrs is that once you get out, you are inundated with all the needs of the camera. Suddenly you realise that your kit lens is crap and you need better lens, then you want a flash and then a bag and then some more lens, in a few years you decide you have outgrown your current camera and want a better one with more sophisticated functions and abilities or in other words a more expensive one. And then one day you see how inconvenient it is logging all your camera equipment around and you want a compact. They always come back to the compacts and compacts are doing very well these days in terms of quality.
But the pictures dslrs take are just gorgeous. I don't believe i've used that word before but thats exactly how i feel. Why am i saying all of these?
I've evaluated my style, if you like and compared with some of my friends and this is what i find. I like the little things, the small insignificant, i will be the worst person to ask to take portraits or photos for a wedding for example. I'm not that type of photographer. My skills are not top notch and i'm still struggling to find my way around my humble point & shoot. However i find that i'm more comfortable when there's no agenda, no goals, no aim just let yourself lose and shoot.
I may never get a dslr but at the moment i'm satisfied with my humble p&s. Should probably give it a name. Anyway i'll be setting up links to nice photoblogs or photography sites soon.
