family

I was going to post about some hymns i've been reminded of in recent times but i read something morning and thought it went well with Acts 3 that we're going through at the moment. Well here it is
Dr Paul Brand s medical missionary in india, observed an unusual phenomenon with several of his patients. When they were recovering from surgery in his hospital, some family members would bring hot meals to them. At night a relative would sleep on the floor under the bed of the recovering patient. When patients awoke in pain, their loved ones would gently massage them until they went back to sleep.
At first Dr. Brand thought this was inappropriate and unsanitary. Over time, however, he began to notice that the patients receiving this loving care from family needed less pain medication. They were being soothed by people who loved them. This "family therapy" brought the warmth and care of homes into an unfamiliar place.
We can learn from this example of love and care for our family. Those who belong to christ are part of a spiritual family and need to be aware of the hurts of other members. The apostle paul said, "If one member suffers, all the member suffer with it" {1 corinthians 12:26}. This principle requires that we find practical ways of soothing hurts. Do you know a Christian brother or sister who needs "family therapy" from you?

about tongues

God is good isnt he. Well i got the answer to my earlier post in our wednesday prayer meeting, mrs Agnes confirmed what i believed that indeed it was possible to have more than one tongue, for different occasions as the Holy Spirit gives wisdom. Not only that but i came realise that tongues is a language, just like english is a language.

We start up with simple words an d sounds and as we grow, we get to know more and more words and then how to put those words into sentences, sentences for paragraphs, you get what i mean? Its like that. Well its something to look forward to and develop. The times of living in the bliss of ignorance is over, we need to take up our positions in the body and move forward.

Its amazing the things you learn just by listening. If you know me you know i dont talk much, the good thing about that is that it gives me an opportunity to listen. The other day i was just listening to some guys talk about their struggles and one said, struggles, hard times are there to propel us forward, its something to face not a run away from, even though you dont win you get necessary skills and experience to help you the next time you face a tough situation.

Its like games, you know; i've been playing alot of maple story lately and its been a good experience for me atleast, i get to learn alot just setting the stats, and knowing which to increase and at what time. There are lots of monsters of different strength so as a beginner you need to start with the snails and stuff until you are strong enough to deal with the big guys. Its like that for us too, we need to learn basics first then when we're through we can have the necessary skill points and experience to guide others. Blessed to be a blessing. :-)

I know i posted this in my friendster blog but i'll like to keep it here also just in case someone stumbles on it, my question is; is it possible for someone to speak in more than one tongue? I'm just curious.
